Axle shaft length

I am installing the Z32 diff and got the axle shafts from a j30. With the car on jackstands, it looks like the right axle is too long. It looks like it's in a bind in the joint next to the diff. Is it because it isn't on the ground or what?

Thanks.
Matt

you put them on the proper side, because it matters.
iirc shorter on left, longer on right, but thats off the top of my head.

you will be able to visable see which axle (longer vs shorter) should go where when the diff is in, cause it sits to the side a little.

Good luck

I have them on the correct side. Maybe it's because the vehicle is on jackstands and the suspension is unloaded.
