Question Help from the Pros Please!

I have a stock 1990 nissan 240sx 5sp 2.4l. It was passed on to me from an uncle who no longer needed it as a 5th car. Its all good and all but there are a few problems... The car shakes while im stopped at a red light, the car does not go past 5000 rpm (this one is the weirdest), and something seems to be wrong with the stand-by power (the clock and radio memory dont seem to be holding up). I do most of my repairs but im no expert... but i know there are plenty of you in this community... YOUR ADVICE WILL BE GREATLY APPRECIATED! Thanx...

And also the car has 140000 miles, it almost always was driven on the highway. When i accelerate in any gear up to 5000 rpm, it stops there and does that engine rev that kinda sounds like whaaaaw whaaaw whaaaw until i shift up a gear and its all good until i get to 5000 rpm again. The car shaking only happens when im just sitting there like at a red light, I am goin to replace the plugs, wires, distributor cap n rotor, and see how that goes. If it is the engine mounts, which ones would you recommend? As for the stand by power, what fuse would i need to replace if it is the fuse? THANX again for your advice!

thats from that axe commercial with the chocolate guy

Anyways, ur best bet is to check your ECU and see what codes are being thrown out. As for the stand-by power, what do u mean its not holding up? do u mean its dying like the clock light is dimming and radio cant play? or it just resets? Go to the driver side, in the kick panel the fuse box should be there and check the dome light/interior lights fuse and radio. Does your bell chime when the key is in the on position?

Ur ''Stand by power" or Idle power sounds like an Alternator/old battery issue/batteryconnection issue

if the battery is new, then recheck it (it would'nt be the first time a brand new battery failed)
if ur battery is properly checked then next would be your Alternator, its old, it happens, rebuilds are around what 60 bucks, should rebuild it anyway,
if ur battery and alternator are good check ur connections to the battery, rust and other shit (loose terminals) can cause improper charge to the battery

since u said its only problematic during idle, id pretty much would not bother looking at the battery ( since the battery is only mainly used to start the car) and focus on the alternator and ground, all of these issues can be checked easily at Autozone,kragen,pepboys...etc for free...

ur bogging sounds like a MAF issue, when u get to higher RPMS its probably not registering air flow properly and bogs u out, clean it, theres spray cleaners specific for the maf, clean the plug aswell.

ur shaking sounds like ur eng and tranny mounts have gone to shit, no surprise, ur in chicago, ur cold ass weather and 18+ year old mounts, guess what, it kinda happens, just get some OEM replace ment from like Autozone, its like 100.00 for both engine mounts, i dont know if they have the tranny mount, or get nismo mounts, there a bit stiffer, but well worth it, thatll probably run you around 180 for all three, and there not at all hard to remove and install, 12 bolts in total.

GL

P.s.

might also wanna change ur Fuel filter, get a 90 300zx non turbo filter and slap it on.

Also when I disconnect the MAF, the cars stays on for about 10 seconds and shuts off (this is refering to the engine bogging after 5k rpm as posted above). It will turn back on but it stays on for 10 seconds every time but the engine shuts off... I was told the car should stay on and that "its suppose to stay on...it would be in "limp" mode and would nt let u rev past 2k..."
