Thermo going bad? how to tell

now iam pretty positive i had air in my system, but i never had issues with thermo's in my past... but how can you tell a thermo is going bad.. cause after my flush. i drove and bleed the system twice (not happy with it) then drove all nights hours.. not a issue.. started up this morning overheated down the street, lower rad hose cold.. bleed the system (some air) and now just coolant coming out the bleeder... my q? is.. does a thermo just go bad or does it slowly die out ?

if a thermostat is the cause of over heating it means its not opening. Its not likely for a thermostat to not open. If they go bad, its usually the seal that breaks and causes ur car to not heat up durring the winter. But to test ur thermostat, u must take it out, put it in boiling water. If it starts to open, ur A OK. Most likely u have air in ur system. Open your rad cap and turn the car on and watch the water level go down lol. Fill upto full. Do not do this when ur car is hot.

Eitherway change the thermo for a nismo.

Perfect excuse to ditch the stocker and avoid warping the crap out of the head.
