post drift clinic questions

Had an awsome day yesterday. Got some good runs in, and learned quite a bit. The AGXs felt best at 4front/7rear, althought bald tires up front were causing TREMEMDOUS understeer. I spun out quite hard, and liquified a stock control arm bushing (full bushing kit to be installed in the coming week)

I have noticed a few problems, and I need answers.

1) everytime I turn my wheel to the right, there is a very loud straining noise (not like the power steering whine) The only way I can describe it is the sound of creaking wood. I noticed it during the spin out. I didnt complete the run because of this, it worried me. I went in to the pits and checked it out, thats when I found the exploded bushing. Nothing looks bent or damaged.

2) What camber plates will work with KYB AGX shocks?

Next question happened before the clinic, but im gonna go ahead and ask anyway

3) My car is having problems starting. When I turn the key, sometimes it makes a clicking noise, or nothing at all. IT takes a few turns to get the car started. I also noticed that it takes ALOT longer when my car is hot. What can be the cause of this.

Possible answer to question 1. The noise you are hearing could be your tire rubbing the inner fender well. Check for shiny metal. Bust out the hammer and start pounding.

For your starting problem.
1. Battery is going bad
2. You have a loose Negative Terminal Connection
3. You need to clean your batter Terminals

bjorkluv- thank you, I will check into that when I get down to my car.

As for the "clicking noise" I apologize. Its more of a "whir" noise.

I think the creaking wood sound MIGHT be your rack n pinion steering rack. Inspect them. Maybe you've got a buildup of dirt, or debris. It happened to me. Cleaned em off, regreased it, and its sitttin pretty on jackstands now.

And i also have that clicking sound from my Auto coupe. I wonder was it is too. Maybe we should check our negative grounds?

And aren't camberplates pretty much universal?

That sounds REALLY reasonable. I hit the infield hard prior to the spin, and was 1/4 wheel deep in mud, water, grass.

As for the plates, I do not think so. I have been told that some do not mount to certain suspension.

How do you know?

At full lock with high offsets it will make that sound if the suspension is compressed (i.e. spinning out).
