Although I've heard "That thing's pretty quick...is it a 6?" a couple of times, all 240's came with i-4's. Some people have fitted the RB i-6 Skyline engines, but it's overkill IMO unless your going for massive amounts of hp.

There is NO SUCH THING AS TOO MUCH POWER! Nothing is overkill in the quest for horsepower. BTW: It is a 2.4Liter inline 4 cylinder. Horsepower and torque depend on if its 89-90 or 91-98. -Jeff

ah...you mis-interpret. I never said the 6's are too powerful. I simply stated that I think they're impractical unless you want alot of power. I believe the 4 would be more cost effective for anything under 400hp.

Thanx for the info, and opinions.
Ya me too a 6cyl would be overkill, but if you just wanted horsepower it would would do quite nicely. Though compermising performance by weight disterbution unless you tinker like hell |

Thankx, Fastback</td></tr></table><span id='postcolor'> ummm...about your question in regards to will a i-6 or v6 fit....with enough money...you can put a jet engine in a 240...hehe....but, if your into drifting...putting a v6 or i-6 is a big no-no...unless you want to add more weight to the back...

140HP, 156 (give or take) lbs of torque for the SOHC motor.
Dropping a six cyl motor like the RB or VG series won't tweak your wieght ratio as much as folks may lead you to believe. the V6 puts most of it's wieght behind the front wheels, helping keep the balance. An I-6 will through it off a bit more, though adding the 50 - 100 lbs isn't going to make the car handle like a Volvo on a lift kit.

Also if you're looking for any suggestions on whether to change out the engine or not I would say no. If you just want something to maybe autocross in once a month or just want to "drift" or anything like that the KA is sufficent. Its got some pretty good torque figures and even though it doesn't have 300+ HP it doesn't feel week at all. The engine last forever too because mine will hit 160,000 miles soon but still drives hard.
