I know they are 4x6...but everyone says 4x6 suck and nobody makes 4x6 that sound good...and Im inclined to agree (without spending over $100)....so my question is this: Will 5x7 or 6x9 fit in there if you leave out those plastic speaker holders that hold the factory 4x6's The mount holes in the frame for that speaker holder look like they are meant to hold other size speakers would accomodate 5x7's or 6x9's. Anyone have any knowledge on this?

thanks,

M

Pretty much another 4x6, unless you feel like getting very crafty in a very hard place to work. I went with infinity kappa 4x6 plates and they sound fine and were under your $100 benchmark for the pair. Obviously bass response is near none, but thats what the 6.5s up front and sub in the trunk are for. I just leave the fader slightly biased to the front and it all sounds good. Don't underestimate the importance of midrange.
