Installing component speakers
I just got some Rockford Component speakers 6.5" Im just wondering where some of you guys(if any of you are audiphiles) mounted the crossover.
I have a 5ch amp and i want to use as little wire as possible. I was thinking of mounting the crossover under the seat and right now that seems like the best place. Any other ideas? This is for a s14. |

drivers side- next to the fuse box inside the car and for the passenger side I removed the glovebox and mounted the crossover behind it and then put the glove box back in. Its nice and out of the way.
Or on my other S14 I had a set mounted with heavyduty double sided tape on the inside of the door panels |

My crossovers are pretty big i think. About 5"x4"x2". I think ill try and mount both behind the glove. Also my friend told me to buy some rubber cups to mount the speakers in just to protect from moisture. I did however have to widen out the plastic speaker mount to get the new speakers to fit =\.
Whats the easiest way to route the wire through the door? I tried yesterday but it gets jammed and i dont really feel like removing the dash. I dont know if i mentioned it before, but Im replacing the stock 18ga wire with 12ga or 14, i forget. |

Nope. No problems with moisture. I dunno if it applies to s14's but I drilled the holes in my door panels for the tweeter in my s13.
