Have you heard of resetting your ECU to let it accommadate for your
modificiations? I heard something about pulling the fuse on your ECU so that it gets reset and the rev limits and things like that are all reset. This way, when you start up your car again, it learns the new settings for your car with the modifications. --- Sorry for the dumb question but I had to double check... dont think its true though --

Yeah, I'm pretty sure that's a myth. I mean, if it were truly as simple as pulling a fuse and letting it learn, then people wouldn't spend hundreds of dollars on getting them reprogrammed or buying new ECU's all together. I mean my point is I think that we would hear about this method a lot more often if it was true. <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt='

Thats true.. In essence what we are talking about is the ecu re-mapping air/fuel maps for new intake, and exhaust flow abilities. Not possible. The only thing it may be able to do is, adjust for the new amount of air comming in and apply the fuel map properly to the new volume of air. Which it should do anyway without a reset... otherwise you would have to reset the ecu when you turbo your car if you were running low boost like 3-4psi?
