Leaking hole in water pump w Pic?

I just finished replacing my Front Seal and noticed a very slow drip coming from this hole in the Water Pump and when I shine the flash light in the hole and turn the front of it I can see something spinning in there. Does that mean it's just time for a new Water Pump and some kind of seal inside is leaking? And is that hole there to tell you your pump is bad when water comes out of it?

Here is the hole, I was just going to put new a new gasket seal on it until I noticed the leaking hole.

FSM says to drain the block first, anyone know if I can take off the Water Pump without draining the coolant from the block? Maybe put a pan underneath the water pump on the ground and loosen the bolts a little to let it drain?
I have a HOTSHOT HEADER and without buying a 15-20 inch extension and a 3/8 swivel It's seems impossibe to get a wrench or regular rachet and socket in there to remove it. Has anyone with a HotShot header drained the coolant from their block?

Any chance you could get me a better pic of the waterpump on your KA?

And BTW, antifreeze kills grass and animals, takes about 2 table spoons to kill a large dog and its sweet so animals like to drink it, after youve done it spray off the area with some water to dilute it, and be careful some states give a HUGE fine of not "disposing" of antifreeze correctly so if you to lazy to dump it at a meineke or somthing make sure no one see's you.
