Exclamation temp. gauge messed up.

ok so what happened was i was gonna switch my base model 95 gauge faces with some se gauge faces so i pryed on the temp gauge a little bit and decided that calibrating the rest of the gauges would be a pain and droped the idea so i push the temp gauge back in and it detects the temperature when it goes up but then after i drive it i'll let it sit over night and the gauge wont go back down like it did before it just sits at the normal temp it is when it's warmed up. so i get back down to the needle try to push it in or somthing, pull it all the way out and put it back in, im desperate at this point, my gauge worked fine before i messed with anything and i havn't even got the se gauge faces in so it totally sucks, has anyone had this problem or does anyone know what i should do?
Thanks.

Question

I was wondering if there is any trick to taking the needles out and still haveing them work when you put them back on instead of working like 1 hour on the temp gauge alone, on the s14? If you get some gauge faces from import intelligent than your going to have to remove the needles how do they expect you to do that, without taking a day apart to make the gauges work, even then the way i got my temp. gauge to work it may not be as accurate. Whats the deal?
