ka problems (chain?)

I was on my way home from work the other day and my timing chain rattle got really loud(rattle before was from the plastic guides) and it died as soon as i tried to take off in the turnin' lane. Wouldnt start. Waited a min or two, fired right up but it was really weak and loud, sounded like the chain, got it to my hood and parked it.

Opened up the valve cover and saw this-

It looks lieke that metal piece broke off and got stuck in the sprocket and made it skip?
When you try to start it it sounds fine, just when it starts running.
Any ideas?

Looks like maybe the upperguide. Hard to tell from the blurry ass pics. If it is the piece that is held on by two bolts at the very top of the chain: You should've taken that off a long time ago. It has been discussed numerous time on Zilvia that that piece has a tendancy to wear out and break off. Sometimes when they break off, they can lodge themselves in the chain itself and screw up your timing. Congratulations, and please don't call anyone a Tard in the future.
