Some of you have already seen this, but I thought I'd upload it and post on the forum anyways. It's a clip of Tsuchiya, Orido, and Wakisaka racing on the track while its raining. They are all driving on sport tires and I found the outcome to be funny.

Oh, it's not that they're not good enough to run in the rain, it's just that the tires have almost no tread pattern... so there is very little water dissipation/re-direction.

For example.. look at this advan r-compound:

and then take a look at this street summer tire (that would have been better for that heavy rain situation lol):

I wonder how well they would have had the race with some good wet traction tires.. never got to see a vid of tsuchiya in a rain race.

its funny that at the end of the race, the supra starts gettin sideways...and IMO, in the wet is the only time when the supra looks good/graceful sliding...

Then do yourself a favor and pick up a copy of the JDM Option Volume 15 DVD with the Odaiba D1 event. You'll see Orido drifting the hell out of the RS*R Supra, broken parts and all, and very graceful.
