Big Brake question

Ok, a friend of mine works for a parts store, that sells Stop Tech brakes. Only reason I'm considering this is the deal he can get.
My question is I noticed that there is'nt a rear brake kit for the 240. I was curious if I got the Z32 rear brakes along with the front, could the Z32-240SX conversion brake lines work?

I will have some 17'' wheels in the front and 18'' in the rear and I would like to fill them up with brakes so just checking.

Not sure what you are asking, but you may want to upgrade your MC if you are doing a Z32 rear.

Pretty much, I was trying to ask

I know there are big brake kits for the front of the car right. Ok no I've seen big brake kits for the rear, but I can't seem to find a rear big brake kit by the same manufacturer. So I was asking do they just take a front big brake kit and put them on the rear, then modify the brake lines??

A rear 300zx rear requires more parts to obtain like the cables, e-brake...

Lines are the same, but the caliper won't bolt up. Front calipers mount on a 100mm flange, rears on 110mm.

Hmm, going out on a limb

If I go 5lug front and rear would a 300zx rear big brake kit work?
Cause I'm sure the connection points of the brake lines are the same as the ones to the car.
So I could get a 300zx rear big brake kit, use the Z32 to 240sx conversion lines and it should work?!

Or am I just

Why wouldn't it? Z32 brakes bolt directly to Schassis. So anything that bolts to the Z32 will also work.

Front Brake kits you have plenty of options on.
300ZX, Skyline, Stop Tech, Brembo, Project Mu, GREX, Rotora, Etc...

The Rear you have only a few options to play with.
Silk Road Larger Rotor Kit, 300ZX Rear 2pot, Brembo Skyline Rear 2 pot, Rotora Rear 2 or 4 pot,

Basically any of the Barkes off of the 300ZX or Skyline will fit the Silvia as well... just keep the set-up in the right place. Their are places that make relocation kits that place the caliper a bit forward but nothing to mount a Front Caliper to the Rear.

When doing a Brake Swap on the Front and Rear its highly suggested you do the Master Cylinder as well. This is what you want... Nabco 1-1/16" part# 46010-30P21

Peace
Drew

Thanks for your help man.
I think I'm just going to go with a big brake kit for the front and Z32 rear brakes.

Thanks again for the help

Going that route is probably your best bet. Stop Tech's philosophy is to design a front brake kit, that will compliment the stock rears so that you will save money, as well as have a well balanced setup. Plus, the stock rears are huge compared to the fronts. Oh, in order to make sure you maintain the balance, you will need the Z32 MC.

Good luck!

With proper pad choice you dont need to upgrade the rear brakes I have z32 26mm aluminum fronts with porterfield r4s pads (very progressive) and stock rear calipers with rotora rotors and axis ultimate pads it is perfect setup in my opinion the car brakes very well in a straight line and is very easy to trail brake and rotate the car entering a corner. I also have the n/a z32 stock master cylinder because the pedal is kinda squishy without it.

^^^Ditto

I plan on running the STOPTECH Z32 14" front kit and STOPTECH Z32 13" rear kit on my S-chassis after swapping for the Z32 upright and e-brake assembly.

This setup has been done before not by just only 1 person and I confirmed it with Jeff Ritter at STOPTECH that it would work as long as you upgrade the master cylinder otherwise your pedal feel and brake bias will be out of whack.

You can even run the STOPTECH 13" 240SX front kit and STOPTECH Z32 13" rear kit and still maintime the proper brake bias (given you have a 17/16" MC) because the piston bores are the same between that setup and the STOPTECH Z32 14" front kit with the STOPTECH Z32 13" rear kit.
