Anyone else get canker sores? The only two people I know who have gotten them are myself and my friend Alan - who seems to be my doppleganger in every sense... we finish eachothes sentences, and can communicate more effectively with grunts than I communicate to others with words.
So, in the past month, I've gotten 2 canker sores, and my gf made the remark that I am "the only person [she] know[s] that gets canker sores". And I don't count Alan, because he's just me in another body. So.. WTF. Who else gets these bitches?

And mouthwash. Due to said canker sore, the Listerine had to go.. so I bought some Crest mouthwash. It went in, swished around, tingled happily and cleanly, not Listerine's burning and numbing, and then I spit. And... blue clumps came out. After washing these blue goobers down the sink, I go to google and search for omgwtfbbq blue shit. Normally that wouldn't work, and today was no exception. So, I search to "crest mouthwash clumps" and visit their site, which explains in it's FAQ:

And if you don't have braces, here's the notice I wish I'd have gotten: You will spit out clumps of shit for the first time in your mouthwashing experience. Man.. I'm still kinda creeped out.

People who get cancer sores regularly have herpes simplex type 1, i.e. oral herpes.

So yeah...people are born with it. When I was a kid I once had like 8-10 in my mouth at one time, it was hell. My sis had that case too...so did my dad.

Anyway, I only get one every once in a while now.

Hey Jeff, what school do you go to? I just got my first bill from UCSB for winter quarter, 2400 dollars for 10 weeks. Thats ridiculous, but seeing as how you have to sell your car to pay your bills, it puts it all in perspective.

yeah I've had them since I was a kid too, you just deal with it. There's this stuff called Kanka that helps numb it so you're not constantly in pain when you accidently bite it or eat spicy food, etc.

I only get them when I bite my cheek or some sh1t and we are in the field and hygiene is lacking...whatever you do dont google about chancer sores cause you will be convinced you have cancer aids and all sorts of shit...

Assuming you mean canker sores, it's not Herpes. The cold sore is caused by herpes. Doctors have no clue what causes canker sores.

I always get canker sores after I bite my lip. Then they are swollen and get bigger and I bite them again. MOTHERFUCKS!!
I highly recommend Peroxyl and when you are out of the house and dont have access to anything making your own salt water works very very well. Peroxyl is made by Colgate and works very well. It is not a the standard mouth rinse but it actually designed to help heal minor cuts/abrasions in the mouth. Its kind of expensive and is definitely harsh at first but it makes using any other mouth wash feel like nothing basically. Seriously, try this stuff out

Ill get one every once in awhile. I found out from a friend that if you get some listerine, and hold it in your mouth over the sore for like a minute (burns like hell, lol) it goes away.

Yup, that works. I have a canker sore in my mouth that's healing right now, and the only thing that ever helps is mouth wash and brushing the hell out of the inside of my mouth. I even carefully brush the sore itself -- heals twice as fast.

I am in the millitairy, and i know that alot of people get them due to an inadaquite nutrition (ie chow hall for months, or weeks of hot rats) but if you take a multi-vitiman you can avoid them, and helps to heal faster. that and a host of other items are common for stress/fatigue/no damn sleep to come on to let you know that you are beyond natural limits and the body just can't keep up with maintaining shit. Oh yeah drinking LOTS of differnt hard liquors doesn't help. I've tried that.
