Loan officer. PT Yay or nay?

Well my schedule permits a full time job basically. So i might as well take advantage of it rather than be a bum. I've heard stories of old highschool chums doing well as a loan officer, however, they could just be that... stories.

Thoughts? The Irvine job market isn't as great for entry level as the bay area ::sob::

starts off slow usually but pays well. Both of my brothers are paramedics and do the loan officer thing part time. They've made a few extra grand in just a few months, and this is by not really doing much since the market in Florida is good.

Best bet is to become buddy buddy with a realtor. If they send work to you all the time, you're gold. There's a lot to know about this stuff, but for the most part all of the loan officers I know make good money.

just started actually, i'm a tech guy, but jobs are hard to get. full time i sell cell phones in costco, pays ok, but plenty of room for growth.

part time mortgage lender, started about 3 weeks ago, telemarketing. i told my hiring manager i despise it, and he said ok, there are other ways, just get yourself known.

right now my dad went through me to refinance the house, so i get commission on that. I'm talking to aunts/uncles/cousins about it and hopefully word spreads. don't expect a lot in about 3-4 months, I don't. good luck.
