Throttle Position Sensor??? HELP

In a `92 240sx Coupe KA24DE w/auto trans, what would be the symptoms of a bad throttle position sensor? I went on and ordered a replacement, but I want to be sure that is the problem. The car is overall, sluggish on acceleration, revs are not building, car is not accelerating like normal, so I crossed transmission off the list. I have been dealing with the problem for a while, but just over night it has gotten worse, possibly due to the cold. If I reset the ECU, the car runs fine for about 30minutes to an hour. If I punch the throttle in the wet, the rear tires won't even spin, it just slowly takes off. It is almost like it is in the wrong gear or something, then I thought maybe the kickdown switch is bad, so I am not even sure. If the new TPS solves the problem I will post that. If not I will be relying on a lot of help and advice I can find on here... Any help I can get is greatly appreciated...

Download the fsm, get a multitester and get to work! The coolant temp sensor might be the problem as well, since you mentioned the problem got worse or atleast changed while it was cold. The voltage on the tps should be around .45 volts and the value for the coolant temp sensor is in the fsm. .
