Greddy Oil Pan

i havent put on my greddy oil pan yet, but i noticed that there are two holes on the side of the pan. one of the holes comes with a plug to plug it up but the bigger hole is left open. do you put your stock drain plug on there or is it for sensors? is this where you're suppose to drain oil from? the side of the pan?

for those with the greddy oil pan, does the oil flow out well since its on the side of the pan as opposed to the bottom? i know the pan is a little tilted, but ive never seen it like this.

It's the oil drain plug hole, I just finished my swap and that's what it's for... the other is for a temp sensor but most gauges made here in the US won't fit the threading... you have to get an adapter from SPL parts to get it to work. I just drove my 240sx today for the first time with the SR20DET installed and didn't notice any issues with oil pressure. It also started right away when I first started it up with no oil pressure or starvation issues.
I gotta say it's one of my fave mods I have done

But back to your question, the big hole is for the drain plug and yes the stock one works great with it.

greddy should have tapped the rear middle of the pan for the drain plug.

The pan is designed to counter the motor tilt so the bottom is level to the ground when installed. The baffle design traps a significant amount of oil when you jack up the front of the car. to drain it 100% you have to put the passenger front corner down as much as you can somehow. like, put the whole car up in the air with the front left stand down 1 notch and the front right down 2. pretty ghey. but worth it.

Also guys, just as a heads up. The greddy pan is easy to strip from overtightening. I haven't done it yet, but have friends with that problem. I would HIGHLY recommend getting one of these.

For an oil plug there is no reason for it to be tight enough to strip it on any car so there should be practically no threat there. A bit more then finger tight is really enough

Always remove the old gasket and replace with a new crush washer. Handtighten first to make sure you don't cross-thread. Then tighten to crush the washer. It doesn't need to be that tight. Usually 20-30 ft-lbs would be the max torque value.

Never really had issues with the oil getting trapped by the baffles while draining, but I do leave it sit while I go have a beer or two :P
