Ok I went to ace hardware and matched up the caliper mounting bolts:

M12 x 35, 1.75 pitch. (m12 x 30 might work better)

I hope class 10.9 is ok...

Finally got the front brackets done!!! Well now I'm working on the back setup and as of right now, for the rear, I have evo brakes evo stoptech rotors and z32 ebrake assembly but the rotors don't fit with the ebrake assembly so I was wondering if the z32 stoptech rotors are the same diameter if so that should work with the setup right?

Oh and fwiw, those using evo calipers; the 03-06 brembos are different than the 07+

I have the earlier calipers (ct9a) - which is what most of us have...

Oh, and for the guy who said the outer mounts were wrong in that diagram; you're right! The spacing center to center of the caliper bolt holes should be 6 & 3/16", which is 157mm - not 155 like in that pic.

Totally forgot about this thread. This thread has actually saved me from rear ending someone.

Had my evo 9 brembo's on since last December. God do i love the stopping power i have now and they dont even have good pads lol. Z32 BMC probably helps with it though.

Also, i think i read that z32 conversion lines wont work with evo brakes?? Wrong i'm actually running them. Agency motorsports ones. Work fine, no leaks or anything.

Oh and they do attract a lot of attention lol, its nice though to know that when i use my brakes my car actually stops.

I'm just getting mine mocked up and I'm not thrilled with the thin area that the oem bolts have to thread onto once the bracket is the proper thickness: .5" to 3/8"...













The notches to clear the caliper ribs don't make me happy either.

I think I'll remake mine in a different L or S shape next time...

12x1.5 bolts
length depends on bracket and washer thickness being used
30 - 35mm is roughly where it'll fall

It's been well documented
z32 rear rotors is what you want to keep working ebrake
STi rears bolt up but pad thickness is less
Evo rear will need a bracket or re-drilling to fit

1/2" is close but not perfect
STi and Evo actually require different thickness brackets
(hole spacing is also slightly off)
is the reason why we ended up making a bracket for each caliper specifically

with worn components - pads, rotors - 1/2" may work
but most likely fitting problems will arise with new parts

look at the calipers
z32 ones - front and rear - have a fitting inside ---> z32 lines
Brembos don't have the fitting, same as OEM ----> OEM lines

you may not have had a problem yet
or maybe never will but doesn't mean it's right

and told people to grind down the ribs on the calipers
shape is determined in great part by the amount of room to have there

ps. STi calipers don't need as much grinding as Evo ones
but Evo ones are oriented the proper way for pad wear

also STi calipers use a 12x1.75mm bolt which is a pain to source
we ended up contacting a bolt manufacturer and having a batch made specifically for the project

If the gts-t caliper work on z32 rotors on s-chassis then I don't see why they
wouldn't work with that set up.

Personally I would got with the Brembo set up just for the sexiness factor
but that's just the ricer in me
99% or cars don't need anything beyond z32 calipers

Dude i couldnt agree more. I only want to do the brembo thing because it looks cool. I have 18 inch wheels with stock brakes and it looks terrible.

I was gonna go with evo front calipers and sti rear calipers with the Z32 ebrake set up, but all this talk of having to change brake boosters and finding the right lines and modifying brackets and all that other shit, i'm just not feeling it anymore.

I'm not sure if R33 calipers work on Z32 rotors. If they do then yeah i'll do that with the 350z rotor and z32 rears and powder coat them brembo brilliant gooooooold and paint the nissan letters red. There is absolutely no shame in my game.

I'm getting ready to put STi Brembos front's and z32 rears on my daily S14
stock KA and automatic....
lol, but I have two sets of Brembos - Evo and STI - that we used when designing the brackets collecting dust
I'll probably also end up with a set of Def's Wilwood set up
and not to mention the z32 sets I've also collected through the years

so yeah, it's lame to put Brembos on the daily but might as well put to use the parts I got laying around

Well if you recall, I kept sending you pm's up until December of last year and you had put your bracket development on hold.

So I eventually got tired of waiting and got it done.

IMO, tower240's brackets would be what I'd buy had I to do it all over again... Just for the ease of bolting them on with no worries.

The R33 calipers use bigger rotors than the Z32's so it wouldn't work.

Seriously though, I have a prototype set. So far they've seen 500-550 track miles and holding up strong, about to get another 250-300 on them this weekend (leave in a couple of hours for Texas World Speedway - very high speeds).

The production run should be finishing up in the next week or so, then they'll be shipped out to everybody that participated in the group buy.

Well they're on, but I'm not pleased at having to use 10mm spacers with 25th anniversary 350z wheels...



I added some threaded bolts and tapped the small side at 10-24 bc I read some evo guys didn't like the tension pins that they normally use.




That being said, I think I'll put this setup fs so I can go with a wilwood setup.

Finally finished up my brakes last saturday after many months letting my car collect dust.

Custom billet half inch aluminum brackets, hardware, custom braided lines, 350z track rotors and a set of wilwood superlite calipers with pads is all you need.
not including any of the time it cost me, time is money lol.
Over all cost was roughly $590. for parts only

RevolutionBrake sells an entire kit almost identical to this for $800+ another alternative is to spend the $1000-1200 for the real deal and purchase the wilwood kit.

Ill post more pics when i get a chance.

The R33 rotors are 296mm in diameter and the 350Z Rotors are 324mm.
