correct brake set-up facts
i've been thinking about it for a while now and i was wondering, since so many people seem confused about what setup works. i was wondering if persons with the knowledge of what brake components go together from the factory sizes and/or part numbers. like what combination brakes, master cylinder, booster come equiped together from nissan.
for myself i want to know which master cylinder and booster went on silvia K's S14s and 200sx S14s with touring packages in Europe. since they came with the four piston calipers in the front (not sure if they were 26mm or 30mm), and the same rear brakes as we have stock. I'm not interested in opinions based on peoples individual setups, only the facts. |

I can tell you that I'm running a 300zx MC on a full front/rear Z brake setup and it feels phenomenal, and I haven't heard any complaints from those running fronts only and the Z32 MC...

docrice, i have the iron 30mm z brakes up front with stock kouki s14 brakes in the rear and the nabco 17/16 bmc. i had the stock 7/8 mc for close to two years before i swapped it for the 17/16 half a year ago(yes, bending the hard lines was a PITA). it is a great improvement, but i wanted to run the setup the way it was supposed to be ie correct mc, and booster for non-ABS kouki S14. then decide which feels better. it is my understanding that some of the European 200sx were left hand drive, so there should be a correct bmc somewhere. i just need to figure out exactly what the part # is.
hypertek, i'm going to look into the FA writeup if i can find it. thanks Last edited by sncs14; 12-05-2005 at 02:43 PM.. |

If you go to the technical section of Zilvia, there is a FSM for SR-equipped S14's (Silvia/200sx). I haven't looked at it in a long time, but it may have some information in there for ya... I totally understand your interest in pursuing this. Still want to find a master list of the different MC's and their biases...

ok
US specs: bore diameters: M/T 7/8, A/T15/16 split point: same for both M/T & A/T models= 427psi X .04 reducing ratio brake booster model/size: M/T M23/9.08in., A/T M195T/primary 8.07 in.,secondary 7.09in. SR20DET specs(s14 Silvia & 200sx EU,AUS): bore diameters: w/out ABS 15/16, w/ ABS 1" split point: same for w/out ABS & w/ABS=569 psi X.04 reducing ratio brake booster model/size: w/out ABS M23 or G23/ 9.06in., w/ ABS M195T/primary 8.07in., secondary 7.09in. in summary i guess i would need the 15/16" bmc with the split point of 569psi X .04, and either the M23 ,G23, or M195T boosters. now i just need that part number for that LHD bmc. Edit: from skikichimp's thread "'86 Z31 Non-turbo MC part number is: 46010-04P00". can anyone verify that that's the bmc i'm looking for? |

did you find the specs on the z32 MC by chance? I only ask because the split point and proportioning numbers (for the SR20 S14 chassis) sound similar...
