well if its in a 240sx you probaly have hydrolic lifter that dont need adjust ment.

yep ka and sr have hydraulic lifters, There is no adjustment, if you have done head work you may need to bleed the lifters.

the shims sits on the bottom on the valve spring.... ur best bet is just lashing it under the cam with a feeler gauge and re torque it... to oem specs.

You can't adjust them. If you wanna change the duration they open for just change your cams.

Word! Nuff said.. but make sure you get a torque wrench that goes down low enough to torque them properly.

WTF are guys talking about??!?!? There are things called "lifters" or "bucket tappets" that fit over the valve spring. Then on top of them there are shims. These shims ARE replaceable and that is how you cahnge the clearance between the cam and the spring!
