Just wanted to say hey to everyone that was posting on the other thread about the S15 I bought my wife. I didn't get the chance to post before the thread was locked. There were no tricks or secrets to getting the car as some may suspect. I'm not hush-hush about the process. It's published information. Yes, I did subcontract to a registered importer, yes the car did cost a ton because of all the processes some of you mentioned. (They were required and I paid the price to get them done). NHSTA, DOT, EPA, taxes, fees, bonds, deregistration in Japan, crash test, safety reinforcements, etc., etc., etc. Every document is there. Every one. Despite what a few may believe, it is possible with enough money. I enjoy JDM Nissans as well as U.S. Nissans. My shop performs quite a few JDM engine swaps as well as performance mods for many brands of import cars. Last year we made a number of custom car shows promoting our business (Formula D, Hot Import Nights, NOPI, and SEMA). Presently we show a '89 R32, '96 R33 Vspec, now a '99 S15 Spec R, '03 350Z, a supercharged '03 Miata, and a '03 S2000. We also race our cars in Solo II events. The only issue I take as fradulent is the comment about Georgia. Most of us are very friendly, non-hating types that enjoy cars. If you are ever in the area, please look me up. I'd love to show you our fleet, our shop, and our southern hospitality. We work hard and party hard. Cheers!
