Will These Clear 300ZX Brakes?

16x7 +35 and 16x8 +35

Probably not, right? If not, what's the minimum size you'd have to go with?

Thanks...

no clue, offset has nothing to do with caliper clearance. what kind of wheels are they?

Offset does affect caliper clearance.

The face of a 0 offset wheel is closer to the caliper than the face of a +35 offset wheel. Of course, spoke design also plays a big part. A 0 offset mesh wheel will not have the same clearance of a 0 offset spoked wheel(like an FN01R)

it will be close. I know 16's can clear. but I think you would need like 40 offset. so you will be close but a 5mm spacer would prob make it work.

I've decided to go with what I originally wanted, SSR Reverse Mesh. I just picked up a pair of 16x8 +26, now I just need to find 2 more lol. The 5-lug conversion I have has 63mm studs so there's plenty of room for spacers, I'd like to run 300ZX brakes down the road...

Thanks for your responses.

good, cause you're going to need it, mesh wheels have very little caliper clearance.

and for future reference, there is lots of misinformation in this thread.

assuming it's the same type of wheel, that's not true. manufacturers, either adjust the place the spokes attach to the rim, which won't change anything, will make the mounting pad thicker or stretch the spokes out farther, creating more clearance. that's assuming you know what type of wheel it is. in general, there's no tie in.

16"s will clear, but so will 15"s, it won't be that close. +35 with a 5mm spacer will give you a +30 effective offset. i don't know if that's what you were going for, but the way you said it was misleading.

u are wrong. offset has no affect whatsoever to caliper clearance. only the design of the face will determine clearance.
