Blame Dave Coleman and the flat blacked "project silvia". only the same 'tards who bought $1200 disco potato turboes so they could get that uber sweet 275hp would fall into the same trap of "a flat black car is badass y0".
i feel this thread was directed at most of the florida kiddies :gay: hahaha. that's the common scene around here. 1. buy busted s13. 2. rattlecan flat black, or gray. be sure to tiger stripe the fuck out of it. 3. weld diff. 4. hand-me-down tein s.tech/blown agx combo 5. beat the fuck out of it. total cost = $50? lol flat black and rattlecan flat black are 2 totally different things. i can count on my one hand the amount of cars in general that ive seen rattlecanned that actually would be mistaken for at least a maaco $150 special job. i guess i dont understand either, how people cant wait for their kit to be on or this or that. all about being seen i guess, but id rather be seen without new stuffs than be seen with ghetto new stuffs. thats the worst. also, not sure if true, but ive been told that if u rattle can a car (maybe not counting rattle primer), its hard as crap to strip it off when doin a real paint job and just creates more work. not sure if thats true but then again, 99% of people who rattlecan their car dont ever make it to real paint...besides fixing "battle scars" with bandaids, zipties, and a few quick passes of the can heals all right? :roll: and by "battle scars", i mean asshats who roll off cliffs and clip trees and curbs on a weekly basis. anyone who has a rattled canned car and actually tracks it and beats it up, i'll tip my hat to you. and people who use primer towards fixing their car is ok, as long as you're not passing it off as a fix for your poor fender roll on your stock +40 wheels, and actually get paint within a certain time period afterwards. ps - "Russ Rant" FTW!

If you have a body panel that is a different color because a suburban tapped you, or you hit a trailer, or a barrel, etc, fine who cares about that.
If you inherit a 240sx from grandpa or grandma, with perfectly fine paint, maybe some bird poop and a ding or two on the door, for the love of god stop shittily masking the car and painting the car primer. Another horrible one is buying a body kit, and instead of painting the bumpers & skirts to match the car, you just paint everything primer. it looks like shit. its not cool every single buildup thread with someone 'new' to the community has their car rattle can primered. someone told them its a good idea. im just saying its a bad. real bad. like doing your mom and grandma doggystyle in the same night bad

It's their goddamn car, and if they wanna look all fucking clown shoes then they can do so. EDIT: Oh, and R240NA.... what?! The community's image? To everyone else not in the scene, we're just a bunch more fucktard riceboys dumping thousands of dollars into worthless generic 90's asian cars. Seriously, as much as I agree with every word you said, it's not worth getting worked up over because our image is not gonna change. Every dollar I spent on my car in the first 9 months of owning it was replacing shitty old stock parts, from my brake pads to my suspension bushings, from my subframe bushing collars to my exhaust manifold gasket, ad infinitum. Only now, after having owned it for nearly a year (though to be fair, I had to leave it at home while I was away at school last spring/summer), have I saved enough cash to start doing real modifications... and then right fucking after I buy my coilovers and differential, some shithead pulls a hit and run on my car while I'm in class, so now I have no money to fix that, and I can't claim on my insurance because insurance is lame. I paid more than average to get a unblemished virgin car from its original owner (a 45-year old lady) so I'd have a clean slate to start from, and now my rear fender and bumper are fucked up. And no, I haven't primered any of the damage. Anyhow, this got really long-- What I'm trying to get at is, all I can control is what I do with my car, so that's all that I should concern myself with... and at least I know I'm doing that the right way, to the best of my limited knowledge and ability. |
