Stripped Idler Bolt...
Im an idiot and I didn't check torque specs on the Idler bolt for the timing chain and stripped it out.
Is it possible to tap it and use a Helicoil to fix the problem? Am I screwed? |

Yes it can be helicoiled. I took mine to a machine shop and they took care of it for me.
If you want to try it yourself, the bolt is m12x1.25, thats the 'kit' you want it for.

If you put a helicoil in and mess it up and your timing chain goes because of it... your screwed... if the shop does it... its their mess...
Just something to think about if your not confident in yourself to do it right, it may be worth spending some bucks to have a shop do it.
