HKS SSQV Install Alternatives

I was wondering if anyone used anything else besides the C-Clip to install the HKS SSQV. I have spent about 2 hours of my spare time trying to get the C-Clip in, even with the right tool. It either flings out into my room or just doesn't go in. Help me with suggestions installing this or other alternatives besides the C-Clip.

Thanks Zilvians!

i just put the new hks in the other day with theses same craftsman snap ring pliers the best thing id say to do is if the hotpipe isnt on your car stabize it with something and while you squeezze the c clip get a friend to push it down with a flathead into the flange, i got the clip in in about 20 seconds.

i've seen ppl struggle with this. And they just can't use their heads. Take off the cover before you start messin with the C clip. Im pretty sure thats the way your supposed to do it.

i use the 45 degree angle snap ring pliers.

I compress the snap ring.. get it "inside" the flange.. then use a screw driver to push it down into the slot.. u have to make sure that your pushing down on the BOV so that your squeezing the gasket.. but it takes all of 5 minutes.. 10 without snap ring pliers.

I used JB weld.

No, really, I did, because some of the "HKS" flanges that are floating around out there are not machined properly. If you mount the SSQV on them, with the o-ring, and the snap ring fully seated you can still blow air around the seal. I used the o-ring and some JB quick (inbetween) and the snap ring to put mine on my EVO. I pressure tested it after about 50 miles, no leaks.
