I can't decide between the Sparco Torino or the Corbeau A4.
How are Corbeau seats? It's half the price of the Sparco! I know it's not the same qualilty of the Sparco but it can't be that bad! can it? thanks! |

Corbeau's r a great alternative....very good quality. the A4 tends to be a little narrower at the top than the others offered by Corbeau. if you have wide shoulders i'd consider a diff seat.
**be aware u MUST buy the seat tracks (if u want em) when u buy the seats, as Corbeau will NOT sell tracks by themselves! |

hmmm, narrow up top eh? All Corbeau's seem to be narrow up top. <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/sad.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':('> Any recommendations?

actually, I don't race(yet)
this is mainly for street use, but I like to drive aggresivley at times and really feel the car. I can't stand the stock seats on the S13. They hurt my back and have poor lateral support. |

we like the Carrera. i'm assuming you want reclining..?? the A4 is a very good seat too (and the Targa RS!). we ask how much someone weighs and height to get an idea of build cuz that does make a diff. if ur slim choose by style. if "larger stature" its best to actually find a seat to test fit! u take a chance if not. my $.02

BTW Takumi's right.....Sparco/Momo/Recaro's are awesome seats, just higher dough! The Corbeau's are a great cheaper alternative in the sea of seats. ur size i'd recommend Carrera. the upper "wings" are flatter than the A4 and Targa RS (these "wrap" out more) so bigger shoulders fit well. if i could afford Momo or Sparco i'd do it, but my budget yells "Corbeau!!".

the Carrera tilts forward about 45 deg (to bottom), and will lay as flat as your back seat will let it. i'd say good access to rear if thats ur concern. i dont know enough about particular Sparcos....

If I were buying seats, I'd have a hard time not getting Corbeaus over Recaros b/c of the money to quality ratio. IIRC, the Carrera also has the adjustable lumbar bags optional - nice features for like $40 extra/seat. I also believe you can get them "shaved" so they sit even lower (if you were a taller guy - especially an s14 owner).
BTW: BRIDE seats are JDM crap! They are made for guys who are 5'8" tall and weigh a buck twenty. For that money - I'd rather sit in an s13 seat! |

Hmm..I didn't know getting the rails or something shaved to be lower is a possible modification. I know 240SX's are prone to have little headroom, then again, I guess that goes with a lot of sports cars. Just go for something that's comfortable enough for you (and your wallet) to put up with on a daily basis and be able to feel comfortable on occassional long trips and drives. Getting a racing seat would make your car feel way different, like night and day. You'll feel the car more, you won't lean around all over the place when you're making tight turns, thus, improved performance. Some say it's one of the best modifications an avid performance driver can buy.

Ever looked into getting Recaro SRD's? They cost just as much as Sparcos. They're around $500-$600 a seat. </td></tr></table><span id='postcolor'> I agree, i mean you are JDMS13, SRD's are nice.. much respect if you get them, i'll get a pair for my S14 next christmas. |

yeah, hippo's right about the brides...think about it - any jdm seat will be made for japanese people, who are, for the most part, pretty #### small.
that being said, since i'm a short piece of shit, i'd lose a toe for brides...but i'm dumb...#### wide shoulders... |

thanks for all the info guys.
one more thing, do the Carrera's sit up high? I have plenty of head room in my S13 as of now. but I don't want to sit high up after I get the seat. |

anythign made for big tall americans that want a seat to sit LOWER!.. my god. i'd give my two middle fingers for a seat that sat lower... </td></tr></table><span id='postcolor'> Yup - the aforementioned Corbeaus - shaved and on lowered seat rails (custom work). I'm going to be dreaming of those when I'm packed into my car next month on a track w/ a helmet at 6'3"! IIRC, the Corbeau dealer I know charges about $30 each to have them shaved. |
