SR with ARP's at 70 with molly lube, if using regular motor oil torque it to 80.

My bad, on the next page in the sr fsm after tightening to 30 it calls for turning all the bolts 90* with an angle wrench and then turning them all again another 90*, and looking at the "elastic" image next to the studs it looks like its supposed to be just slightly more than 60 in the end. With new studs you might want to do the last part in 2 steps as the fsm calls for.

With my headgasket and arp headstuds, I torqued to 80 ft lbs on my SR. Many others torque to that value as well. I would not go less than 70 ft lbs for an SR.

we are talking a new oem head gasket, new head studs on an sr.
just to be clear. like i said in a previous post, it looks like 60 ft lbs is what they want. you guys that are saying 70-80, or i will blow headgaskets, what is your reasoning?

I even think the stock headbolts are greater than 60 ft lbs. I don't feel like looking it up right now, but I would torque them to atleast 70 ft lbs, or better yet, follow the fsm. The fsm is the best way to do it right. The reason you want more torque is so your headgasket does not leak. I fear putting just 60 ft lbs will cause a slow leak and then you will have to replace it sooner than later.
