Tow Hooks

Alright, I am looking for info/pics on tow hooks. I know the 240 has some factory ones. With how low my car is and having the lip, the fronts are useless. I am wondering what people have done for aftermarket tow hooks, what brand they are, how they are mounted and where they are mounted. Not intrested in the ones that bolt on up on your strut tower. My Intercooler takes up the holes in my pignose bumper, but I am fine with cutting a slot for it to go through on the front. Posting pics are a plus. All I found when searching was WTB/For sale threads and a thread on tow hook toys.

"WHY DO YOU NEED 5 TOWHOOKS?"

KA-T_240, just find a universal one and mount it where ever you'd like it.
Better yet, have a custom one CNC'd and mount it where you'd like it.
Good luck, and thank you for at least explaining why you'd like a 5th towhook.

Good shit. I remember seeing that question so many times throughout the thread. Each time the letters got bigger, bolder, more anxious..
I really liked the welded rod idea someone went through with in the pornstar's thread.

Nukabe has a set of two Universal tow hooks you can get.
You can pretty much find them at most aftermarket shops. I bought a set and currently have the bottom one mounted in the rear. It bolts on right onto your stock hook. For the front you'd have to cut into your bumper to mount it and run it though.

Actually My car has 2 really at the moment. Well, the one where the exhaust is got cut out. And the one on the driverside is all bent up and unusable, so i was thinking getting it out and welding a new one in that comes out the front bumper. But haven't really seen anything like that.

Hmmm, I guess I know the CNC guy at the local shop pretty good. Then I can get it made as long as i need. I guess I never thought about that.

I already have looked at the nukabe, nowhere near long enough for what I would like to attempt

The Jays racing for a S2k look like they make work, I looked and couldnt find info on them, anyone know what length they are?

Front on the nukabes wouldn't make it out the bumper, with out adding metal to it. I think something custom is going to be the easiest and cheapest way to go

seriously, you can make front and rear tow hooks for under 20 bucks if you do it right.

my advice would be to make them and L shade so they wrap around the bumper beam. so theyre pushing the bumper beam instead of pulling on a very small section of it.

but from a style stand point, id say make them all run verticle, because it looks better. i dont know if theyre any advantage to having your tow hooks verticle or horizontal, but i think verticle looks better. idk, just throwing it out there

GL and post up pics of watever you do so i can get more ideas for mine.

Ebay, steel tow hook for a 2nd gen dsm

bolted and welded to the frame rail... the hook doesn't stick out at all.. its perfect not obnoxious, and its very much needed since towing my car from the front was imposable before this.
plus tow hook = race car! duuuuuu

Removing the bumper is way to much work. Also it will be a plus for moving the car around and such when its not able to move under its own power.

Glad to see this Thread is keeping on topic!
