i tried search only gave 5 topics.. but i was wondering if any of you know what kind of turbo the Mitsubishi Starion came with and if it enough to push 9 PSI on??if anyone knows or knows a site for the specs on that turbo or the car that'd be coo..

i got one for free almost brand new (rebuilt to factory specs)

and also i managed to pick up a greddy FMIC (no piping for free too..New condition) from the FORD version of the Starion... forgot the name... but starts with a C.. they had greddy FMIC as an option for that car..) so i lucked out there....

Chrysler Conquest, not Ford. The Conquest was identical to the Starion anyway, except for the badge on the front. The intercooler kit would fit both.

It should push 9psi, don't know at what CFM though. The stock Starion turbo is pretty inefficient compared to modern stuff. Can't beat free though.

can you please futrther explain "inefficient"?
you mean the size??
wasnt the starion a 2.6 liter 4 cylinder??
with a turbo to power a 2.6.. wouldnt that turbo be efficient enough to power a 2.4??
but thats what im thinking.. correct me if im wrong please...

or do you mean the way the turbo was built??

(conquest is what i was thinking.. cuz i was talking about it earlier..but for some reason i forgot... must be the magical garden knomes messin with my head again...)

I mean the way the turbo is built, and the sizing. Turbocharger and turbo engine design has changed a lot since the early '80s when the Starion was built. In stock form they only made 188hp.

I have a 89 conquest, and they can get up and go if everything is going right. Mine did until the turbo died. But the best site to find out anything about is http://www.starquestclub.com/index.pl?board=news.

I also have a 89 conquest lowered, cool air intake and custom frontclip but stopped work on it.
