Silvia

Hi Everyone......
I'm new to this site... I'm here to chase a dream.... For the last 4 years Ihave wanted to build a fast-@ss Silvia..... I'm already pretty well known for my JDM Integra (which was stolen and stripped) I don't know where to start.....It hard to find a 240sx around here with a trunk (not a hatch).......I'd prefer to buy a 5sp. from the door instead of converting..... next.... I could prob. find an SR20DET around...but then as far as tuning it I'm not sure....what turbo upgrade, or whatever...I can figure that out once I get the car........but besides finding the right car..... I can't find an S13 conversion F/S anywhere.....what are the good sites??????..........where I can get like black housing headlights, and Cwest hoods and kits.......when I did my honda there are sites ALL over!!! I can't find any for Nissan!!!! Specifically...the S13!!!! Basically I need a lot of help....I would appreciate ANY help at all.......Thanks!!!!

allow me to be my rude self

first, you wotn find a silvia. its a 240sx. is and always will be.

secondly, finding a coupe is pretty tough. i wish i waited out for one too, but as far as that, just atkes time and paitience and you'll get one.

go to the zilvia.net page (main page) click on links. go nuts. you'll find alll that and then some on that page. so many companies are listed for parts you can buy

good luck
about yoru engine upgrade. SEARCH before posting!!! and hang out and just READ (dont post) and you'll be amazed how much you learn just by that.

welcome to zilvia. any pics of your teg? i love the JDM type r front end..mmm so nice.

You need to search. Alot of answers will come from searching. You might find an s13 conversion in the FS section.

Enjuku Racing
has a lot of parts, and very fast shipping.
Freshalloy.com is a mature forum full of useful SR20DET and KA24DET information and technical answers.

And don't you think it's good in the other hand that S13&S14 are hard to find and see? because so, you don't have to do anything to your car exteriorly and exaggeratedly to differ from many same cars out there, as it may lead to **rice** in another way. (Southern CA is the best example, haha )

WOW that's SO NICE!!! very clean! i love the type r headlights!! are those buddy club wheels? look like it but hard to tell, im not too keen on wheels. any interior shots? looks nice. what engine? stock?

240sx are perfect to beat up. car is so cheap and if you crash it. oh well get another one and swap your stuff over haha..its fun like that.

try and hold out for a coupe though. sil80s are ugly. coupes w/ silvia front end and non-projectors are just simply beautiful. the lines flow perfect and the car is so sleek. my example of a beautiful silvias (my 2 favorites):

non-projectors, te37s, s14 kouki wing, some side skirts, aero mirrors. clean simple, beautiful.

and my favorite sil80:

r33 gtr wheels, non-projector headlights, 180sx oem styled side skirts
i seriously suggest finding a coupe!!

Yeah GTR wheels! Woot!

i think that the US needs more old School two tones. Or nice D1-style Silvias. I see too many flat black ones, or black, black, or black ones. (sorry driftheaven ) Old school, XR4's, SSR mesh, or Wats. Sea foam green/Dk. metallic grey, Blueish silver/Dk. metallic grey, White/Dk. metallic gold are my favorite combos. oh hell they are all cool. Or some nice simple bodykits (like K-Style) and 17x9 front and 18x9.5 rear wheels (TE's or something... +25 and +12 respectively, with wide fenders) Mmmmmm.

My friend has a 92 s13 coupe sitting in his shop he's looking to get rid of. The car is really clean in & out, straight frame and all. Only catch is the car is auto so it requires a 5spd swap. Hit me up if you're interesed. Car is located in Queens, NYC.

because most sil80s ive seen in person (its so cali, seen too many) look like donkey dung.

and the lines dont flow on any of them (sil80s)

if i wanted a sil80 (easy to do-i can get parts tmorrow and on the car) it would be like that picture. the lines still dont flow the same as on the silvia. the silvia is more square body where as the fastback is smoother flowing.

a s1580 is more suitable imho. their body styles are more similiar to the 180sx

it must be illegal to pst my favorite pic of car now? i dont like civics but i can easily dig up some of my favorite civic pics. doesnt mean its ass, just means some people can make it look nice while most dont.

next time i wotn post some sil80 inspiration for people. sheesh

I agree.. lines don't flow right on sil80's.. and personally, the "Silvia" looks weird too, unless it has the factory aero kit. with out a lower front bumber and side skirts to square off the bottom of the car, they just look weird. imo

Sweet, I wouldn't mind seeing what they look like on a car with some good camber up front, I have them on the fronts but with no camber and they kinda look all wierd and crap.

My Teg was an almost fully built LS Engine....I had the option putting a Type R or GSR engine in, but I wanted to be different... I used to dick TypeR's all the time!!! I had Cams, Stroker , Skunk2 IM, Intake, Header, Exhaust, GUDE TB, Skunk2 short shifter, Centerforce Clutch..... A bunch of other goodies...but I never ran it.....prob. would've ran high 13's.........low 14's......... Anyway...I found a coupe today....red.... 91'......auto..... I liked it...but it had lots of pings and small dents around the quarter panels... sun-damaged dash...a lot of faded parts.......I never knew they came with digital speedo's?!?....... It also had a projector speedo thing on the windshield...(do they all come with that too?) It was ok..... required more work than I thought, but hey will see...he wanted 4500 for it.........

WHOA WAY TOO MUCH!

you shouldnt pay more then $3,000 for a coupe in GOOD condition. maybe that's the so cali in me but i wouldnt pay more then $3500 for ANY 89-93 car!

yeah the digital speedo is HUD (heads up display). only available on coupes

here check out

www.socal240sx.org

readup there on the car, it has the dealer options and what was on what and so forth, great info site and lots of good reading to find out what is available on the 240sx thru the various years. i highly recommend taking a few hours reading it all. its so useful and will help a lot.

I have 15x6.5 +19 offset, wierd offset IMHO, I had to use 5mm spacers to keep them from hitting my calipers. They're probably ALOT skinnier than yours. but i love the look of them, people around here wonder why i have 'truck' wheels on my car..

F that. I wouldn't pay more than $1500 for a project car (beat up).

I've seen clean, SR-swapped S13 go for $4500...

Or better yet, some old man that put my tires on, "I have a whole stack of those old wheels in the back if you want them, take them.." I go back there and they're like American Racing and Cragar wheels...oh well

Yah, thanks dude, would love to see them on your car

all i gotta say is "DAMN"
its nice having a new guy who does some leg work rather then looking for hand outs

i wish more newbs would read up before asking the same questions over and over.

i wish you the best on your quest. just remember patience is the key and be a perfectionist.

i suggest no SE model
avoid a sunroof (prone to leaking/more body flex)
if you do a lot of track go BASE model (lowest model).
i like no spoiler for stock but kouki s14 for add on like this (available thru jspec)

also mm seats you'll upgrade cuz stockers blow. you can use s14 seats (straight bolt in) you can use Skyline seats, just have to drill the seat rail to bolt into the 240sx.

and 240sx has a LARGER CHEAPER JDM aftermarket then you'll ever find w/ Hondas.

we are the honda civics of japan

haha..

good luck!
