what should i do about this rx-7

there is a third gen rx7 sitting in a parking lot nearby to where i live.for what i know the car has been sitting in the same spot for about 8 months,its got a really old sticker from georgia in the inside of the windshield.its sitting in front of some businesses but doesnt look like its been moved in a very long time.its missing one of the headlight covers but thats about it.i know this isnt even close to nissan related,but this is one of my dream cars next to the gt-r,advice on what to do?

Look up 'abandoned vehicle' laws in your area. You might be able to just take it after following some procedural stuff.

I kick myself all the time because I once found an abondoned Zenki in my old apartment complex. It had all the tell-tale "I was stolen" signs... I reported it to the apartment managers, they notified police and I never saw it again. But I found out later that I could have contacted the DMV myself, notified the previous owner and if they didn't want the car anymore, I could have taken possesion of it.

I missed out of what could have been a free (albeit ratty) S14...

From what the OP said, I see no indication that the car is for sale. I do see every indication, however, that it has been abandoned. Find out what you need to do man! Get that shit for free and start a LSx swap project!

A lot of people have various electrical issues, but that's not really a beef I have. The most challenging part to having a nice one is how rare they are in great shape, and how fucking expensive everything is.

The most annoying thing about having a nice one is the rest of the FD community (save for a few that actually race their shit) has their heads so far up their collective asses that you're embarassed to be a part of it. Well, every car community is gonna have their little quirky annoyances. Just don't plug into it, I guess... The electrical issues should be alarming though. If it wasn't running, I'd pretty much just treat it like a shell, toss the current engine and wiring in the trash and start fresh with this kind of finicky car...

I'd still take the car if I had the chance to get it free to cheap... provided that I actually had the resources to do something with it though. But if you're just gonna take it from being a dilapitated car on someone else's property to a dilapitated car on YOUR property, then just let it be where it is...

Hahaha so true. I remember when some people found out about the ls1 and the jz swap they wanted to kill the people that did that to the cars. I personally know of FD owners who mod there cars and can't even drive then at auto-x and have to have there buddys drive there cars for them because they hit all the cones. I do like driving the fd's and even the turbo fc's

Wouldn't the parking lot be private property? So I'd imagine you would have to contact the land owner first before trying to take an item off of their property.
