what car should i get?

i dont know what car i should get... i was thinking of getting a s14 but will it be fast enough to smoke those hondas n stuff like that?
dont know to much about nissans..

btw... what would u guys perferr for an engine swap in a 240sx? im going turbocharged n planing to bring it to the runs n stuff...

no...definitely not. your best bet would be to get a civic.

ya i know... the cars im planing to get is a crx or a hatchback 94 cuz their light n good for racing... plus i found this h22 motor with tranny, ecu, motor mounts and all that stuff for 1700 on the net.. but i wanted to do sumthing different then everybody else bcuz everyone has hondas n stuff.... if i get a 240sx do u think i can compete with v6 n v8's?

How about a 1990-1992 Eclipse GSX(6 bolt motor). If you want to get a car fast for cheap, you can't beat those. If you want to put in plenty of time,money and effort, and have a car that can handle well on top of running quarters, and looks really good (way better than eclipse or any civic imho) then get a 240. For you though, the Eclipse seems like a good choice.

well, as is evident by the number of members on this forum, lots of people have 240s, too. if all you care about it going faster than a v8, why dont you just get a v8 yourself?

y would i want a v8 for? all i asked was if i can soup up a 240 to compete with v6 n v8s? cuz n i was planing on getting a 240sx in a couple of weeks so i can make it a race car to go to the races at night..

blah don't listen to them, they are just giving you a hard time. You ask question slike that you're gonna get a dumb response.

Anyways do a little research, any car can compete with a V8 with the right modding. But V8 is such a broad selection. My car which is bone stock can compete with a V8 truck, and prolly some V8 sedans. What kinda cars with V8s.

If you wanna be fast at some races, go turbo, pick up SCC one of em has a brief rundown on KA-T, SR, CA, and RB, or just search through this board and FA. You'll find HP numbers and times if thats what you are really looking for.

But just know what you are gettng yourself into, Nissan isnt like the wonderful world of Honda where you can pick up parts at any corner, and the hobo in your alley can do a swap in 3 hours.

If you want to be faster than V8's (like me), all you have to do is buy a 240SX, spend thousands of dollars on engine swaps, turbo upgrades, engine management, suspension, etc...and you can compare or beat a stock V8. Great. Do you think that the V8's at the races will be stock? Chances are no...so you're screwed.
