I'm in afghanistan now, my wife is back in Northern Japan (Aomori) visiting her mom. We were emailing each other about 45 minutes ago and I guess phone lines are down. I hope they come up soon so I can see if she's alright

Crazy!! I was in Misawa AB (Aomori) a year ago when that 7.0 or whatever hit and that alone was crazy..Hope everyone down there is ok..

I was stationed at Misawa for 6 years. Luckily we only had a few big earthquakes during my time there. Would've sucked to be living in one of the towers on base during this one

I was there from 07-09 and I think that the other recent one was pretty close to 7.9..whats your afsc and when where you last down there?
