![]() My first thread, always looked here for help and though i'd make an account.
I have A Ka24e, hooked up a cold air intake, didn't have a spot for the MAF sensor so I hooked it up without it, started up fine but died after some time and wouldn't rev past 3k, once i hooked up the sensor it would turn over and die almost immediately. Not sure if its a bad sensor? If i need to relearn the ECU or if its the IAC. 1989 240sx, SOHC, full EGR/vacuum delete, AC delete, rebuilt head, bolt ons. |

did they not provide the MAF adapter? it needs to be in line so it can read ur air/fuel to give your ecu the info. hopefully u didnt fry the MAF. unhook your battery for a couple minutes and try adapting ur MAF to the intake tube. it needs to be sealed so all the air is passed through the sensor inside the MAF.

I'm talking about the MAF, they didnt provide an adapter but i ordered one and its coming in soon so i'll hook that up but i dont have a sealed spot for the actual little sensor, where do i screw that to? Just drill a hole in the tubing and screw it in or are there adapters? And wheres the Intake temp sensor located?

If you've done everything stated above and it still dies, ur maf sounds dead. Keep ur maf plugged and disconnect the TPS located on the side of ur throttle body. See if there is a change in the time it stays running. Then vice/versa unplug ur maf and leave ur TPS plugged in. This will ultimately tell u if u have a bad sensor between the 2. Check ur engine grounds on intake manifold. The engine is grounded throughout the loom to 2 ground spades on the harness. I've had ecu failure as I thought it to be. Turns out the spades or connectors were broken.
