KA oil pan

Just wondering... hoping.. there's been a breakthrough on how to remove the oil pan. Anything better than jacking the motor and wiggling the pan yet?
Otherwise.. my life will suck this weekend.

thats it, it aint that difficult, took me about an hour to get the oil pan off with the help of a friend.

However, putting it back it sort of annoying.

Remember to take off the oil pickup before fully removing the pan, you'll need a 12 wrench.

Yea.. I've done this before.. it sucked. My main issue with it is the reinstallation, because the RTV bead gets wiped off during the wiggling on.

Is buying another oil pan and having the drain bung welded on it then just swaping it a good method?

Yep.. it's awesome, because then your car won't be panless for a day or so.
