My DIY Exhaust Odyssey **Update**
Here's a link to the pics. I also have a video clip but I don't have a place
to host it. If someone can help, it'll be greatly appreciated. http://mysite.verizon.net/resow6qs/ My exhaust fell off on the freeway so I figured it was a great opportunity to try and make one. I've always liked how the Greddy DD looked so I attempted to make something similiar. You have to realize that this is my first time welding. I had a lot of help from my cousin. Moved the outlet closer together. Grid and sand everything down. Spraying everything down with high temp. paint. Then I received the Magnaflow tips and realized that the bend after the muffler was too great. It didn't allow for the tilt that I wanted. Decided to take 2.5" off the back of the muffler since the tips I ordered were 18" long and I only had 12" from the tip of the muffler to the bumper. I didn't want the tip sticking to far pass the rear bumper. Second time I had to repaint the exhaust. After having cut and welded the muffler back together I found out that I still couldn't use the "S" bend and had to redo it. But I'm happier with the result since now it's more of a straight pipe. So I would have saved alot of time and effort if I had realized this a bit sooner. I did cover that oxidation up on the right hanger. But it was 2am when I finished so I was to lazy to do it. Here is how it looks on the car. I used a highflow resonator with a Flowmaster muffler and 3.5" Magnaflow tips. The piping is all 3". There's a lot of things that I would do differently, like move the muffler further under the car and run 2.5" piping to the tips, but I'm happy with the results for my first time at making my own exhaust and learning how to weld.
