What is the size and pitch for the EGR tube on a 97 240? I am trying to come up with a fitting to keep it working or a cap off. I had read somewhere that is was NPT but no concrete evidence.

i just cut mine and welded the ending

Best way to do it and the least hassle.

Cut the pipe an inch before the nut, crimp it flat, then fold it once over. Even easier then welding.

The nut is an M24x1.5, you can buy a plug at the dealer. It's called an AIV delete plug, same size for the EGR.
