Metal shavings in the oil pan

I just got a clip and I dropped the oil pan to bang out a small dent, there are metal shavings in the bottom of the pan. I'ts not alot of shavings but is that normal? -s13 redtop-

shavings or grains? A certain amount of metal will be in the pan, happens during cold starts. So unless it is large shavings, you shouldn't have to worry to much.

if you still have the oil filter that came w/ the clip, i would slice it open to see if there are shavings in the filter. that would atleast tell you if it was a recent problem.

the filter is on ther so tight, I was gonna pull it out tomorrow so I'll just check the filter then.
