illegal garage
i got a "superior clutch" for my KADE designed by max himself at illegal garage and it feels great. i dont have other aftermarket clutches to compare it to, but the difference between the superior clutch and oem is like night and day. pricing is not bad, it cost me 365.00 which is about the same as an ACT street clutch and others well known clutch brands and this one is designed for drifting as opposed to the drag racing clutches you usually see. its a copper kevlar design with a double diaphragm pressure plate. pedal is stiffer but its not bad at all, i would take it over the mush pedal of oem any day.
max who works there is real friendly and answered any questions i had with confidence. i'll post more on this product after i go out drifting and daily driving around more with it. Last edited by Jeff240sx; 07-18-2005 at 09:17 PM.. |

Yeah, Max is a good guy. He's always willing to help out with anything car related and is always ALWAYS available to answer any questions you have. He's one of those guys that lives for cars, and it shows in his products.
I highly recommend looking into his clutches if you are in the market. You won't be disappointed. Byron |

Illegal Garage Clutch
Alot of people think you'll need a twin plate clutch on a 400hp SR,
Max pretty much can custom make the clutch to match your driving style and level of hp. Our D1 S14 uses Illegal Garage clutch and so will our "next" drift car. You get what you paid for, there's no such thing as a good cheap clutch, we always pick the middle price items for our cars. Cheers, Sam

I have a question but i'd rather it be answered through this thread. Do you MAKE your clutches, or are they OUTSOURCED to another person who makes them for you?

Its not made in Taiwan if that is what you are asking
I am working with a local builder We tried many diffrent setups until we came upon one that works perfect for drifting This setup is not avaialable to any other source it is what we call an "exclusive" or "capture" item me no, i do not acctually make them with my own hands but i researched it, designed it, tested it, and did the market research Max |

i wasnt asking if they were made in Taiwan. I was asking if you made them yourself. Thanks for the info. I'll probably be in touch with you soon.
