Transmission problems..... yes or no?

Alright, it's been about 6 months driving like this and it has got to stop asap....... I've searched and searched, there are a couple things I have in mind, but just wondering if anyone can help me here.

sr20det redtop tranny and lsd / exedy hyper single clutch kit.

Ok onto the symptoms, sometimes it will grind and pop out of reverse, unless I go into 1st and then into reverse. Often, there is a smack/clunk sound when the clutch is engaged and disengaged quickly. Lastly the most annoying and possibly the worst problems? On deceleration, at around 3k-2k rpm, it chatters like crazy, like to the point where it's louder than my exhaust. Finally, above 3500rpm on acceleration, it also chatters/rattles like crazy, making me not want to push it upwards of 4k+.

One thing I have noticed, it seems like it drives a lot smoother after it has been sitting over night and is cold....... rather odd I think.

So if any of you have any insight to what is going on, please reply, because I'm at the point where I'm about to pick up a new transmission with a much, much softer clutch.

Thanks.

It might just be that your clutch has to be readjusted, so it tries to slip sometimes. but since that's upgraded too, you get chatter instead.
might be wrong though good luck

That is a shield that redirects trans fluid inside the trans. Not a piece that will keep it from running but it directs it up into the are where the shifter is so after a period of time the shifter may become harder to move. Sounds like and adjustment problem on the chattering like th clutch plate is releasing away from the pressure plate and then gripping again. Possibly a weak throw out bearing.

your tranny is toast if a chunk of metal that size came out of it . Look at this way, most likely one of your shift forks is damaged, that piece of metal is the example. That has been bouncing around inside your tranny . think if it gets caught in gears think of the damage it can do.
