This was found in my oil pan. If anyone knows what it is and where it came from, please let me know.

Thanks

to me it looks like something that you could put a tip into to make an impression onto something ( seen them in arts and crafts stores ) you put the tip it in, then hit the back with a hammer and it makes a impression so that a drill bit or something of the sorts wont slide around when trying to go trough, did you have your pan taped or anything for a gauge or a oil return line? looks a bit too big to get around in any of the passages so if you have taken your pan off ( or had a shop do it ) for any reason i would call the shop and ask if they are missing something lol

P.S. and offtopic but 1st post woo woo

its not the timing chain tensioner as those are not cylindrical.

what kind of engine? KA, SR, RB, CA? some basic info could help figure this problem out

did you have the car worked on recently or did you do some work on the car yourself? this could possibly be a tool accidentally left by a mechanic.

give us some more details about the engine, then we can go from there.
