I have a 95 240sx se auto with 79000miles, and would like to get peoples advise on what to up grade first to get more h.p out my 240. everything is stock as of right now. Are there turbo kits out there for automatics? Any insight will be a great help.

Yes, there definitely are turbo kits for autos.

You should look at intake and exhaust first. How much money are you looking to spend?

Should I upgrade the intake or exhaust first? Or at the same time? What aftermarket makers can i look into for this parts?

Don't get headers, you'll get a turbo manifold instead. They cost a lot more than the intake: headers are about $300-400, while an intake will cost you 200 or less.

Thanks for the input, I figure I'll start out slow on modding my car and 200$ sounds like a good start for a first mod. Who makes the best intakes? Is this something I can install myself?

It's a really easy thing to do. It will take  you about half an hour. If you don't have much experience doing this yourself, than do it with a friend or someone who has experience.
Will you drive your car this winter?

i would recamend the k&n intak its like 179. and yes you install this yourself very easily.

With the Injen cold air extention, does it come with the filter? Or do I look into a Injen cold air extension and K&N cone filter?

You'll need to put the K&N cone filter on the end of the injens intake cold air intake tubing.

the injen comes with an INJEN filter.  don't bother with the k&n at all.

Anyone know if is there is a shop in the chicago land area that sell Injen parts.

Do you guys agree that installing a new intake is a good first step into modding my baby?

buying online will almost always get you the best prices. Enjukuracing has the best price i've seen on the injen intake with or without cae. Also be sure to check out the links section right here on zilvia. Its EXTREMELY helpful when looking for parts.

there's also some good deals on ebay 2 every now n then. i would just keep the injen filter that comes w/ it on there, but when it comes time to replace it i would get a k&n.

If I planned to go turbo I'd get a nice 3&quot; mandrel bent cat-back exhaust system...A'PEXi and 5Zigen make some nice ones (expect to drop around $450+)...and leave it at that and start saving for the turbo kit or engine swap. &nbsp;Don't waste your money on other bolt ons; they will be useless when you get the turbo. &nbsp;Intake, header, ecu, etc. etc. will all be different with the turbo...the exhaust is the only thing that need not be changed. &nbsp;
Another thing...If you plan on a fairly high hp output, that auto tranny may need some beefing up. &nbsp;I'm not sure about our tranny in particular, but in general autos tend to be weaker than manuals. &nbsp;But I wouldn't worry about it until you start approaching the 300hp mark...then again, ask somebody that knows alot about the KA auto tranny...it may be stronger than I think.

Yeah, looking at the position of where the CAE ends up it seems amost impossable for water to get up there. You have (in s14's anyway) a plastic guard between it and the ground and between it and the tire...how could you splash water up there? Unless you drove so fast into a puddle that it splashed a wave of water up onto the front of your car...but if you did that <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':)'> water in your intake would be the least of your problems.

Level 10 performance claims that with their rebuild kit the tranny can take 600hp and 500 lb/ft of torque.

I just got an email back from on e of the guys from Jspec. And he said it wasn't really worth it to try and improve performance on an automatic. What do you guys think? Anyone out there with an automatic that can tell me their experience.

depends on what the car is for. &nbsp;if you wanna race, probably not. &nbsp;as a daily driver, go for it. &nbsp;just know that most cars will likely kill you.

Really? It seems only logic, and other people confirm this too, that it's sort of dangerous to drive in rain since water may get into the intake manifold.

the only time it has ever happened was when i was washing the car and i sprayed the hose directly at it by accident. &nbsp;take a look at the pics i posted. &nbsp;nothing but rain here....

i hope rain isn't a problem w/ the CAE, cuz if it's a big problem i'll probably just get the heat shield (even though i don't think it'll do much), cuz i like driving in the rain, not that i'm a crazy driver or nething.
