sr20det problem - no power from 3-5k rpm

I've recently started having a problem with my redtop sr20det. When it first started, the car would drive fine until around 3k rpm and then it would feel like it wasn't gaining anymore power but my boost would continue to go up to 7lbs. I just changed out my spark plugs today and it helped a little bit. Instead of not feeling a power increase after 3k rpm, i dont feel any power increase after 3k rpm but once it reaches around 5k rpm i can feel the power come on again. Hopefully someone has experienced a problem like this before. If anyone lives in the la/oc area and is willing to help diagnose/fix the problem i would also be willing to pay, thanks!

Sounds like a vacuum hose problem. Maybe even a sensor? But it definitely sounds like a vacuum hose leak some where. That or a coupler came loose. Did you hear nay odd noises fromunder the hood? Like an unusually loud swooshing sound?

i'll definitely go thru the leaks again, i've checked and tightened down all the clamps but i'll check again. I haven't checked the coil packs so i'll have to find a faq on how to do it. Thanks

kinda thread stealing... but, my friend works at a dealership and someone brought in a turbo pt cruiser. It kinda has the same problem, turbo spools fine but no power. The boost gauge is also reading an insane amount of boost(24psi) for an OEM turbo. I was thinking boost leak but would a boost leak cause a boost gauge to read inaccurate? Any one got any ideas?

i have a similiar problem also. Mine hesitates a little between 2000-3000 rpm. I'm not sure what the problem is either.

Did you check for codes yet? My buddies sr was running crappy. We checked codes, and got a knock sensor code. We swapped it with my spare SR and it runs like a champ now.
