Oil return line.

Is the oil return line pressurized?

I have just a silicon hose going gravity fed into the tap on my oil pan but it seems to be leaking from the top clamp and bottom clamp. I tightened them up a little but I'm wondering if its a better idea to invest in a steel line with a screw type fitting or something.

What do you guys think?

The return line is not pressurised. I'm going through the same issue so I will keep you updated. Right now the best I can find is this:

http://www.customsteel.com/sr20/html..._fittings.html

He'll give you the fitting with a straight or 45* -6 fitting. Then it's up to you to figure out how to get it into the block.

I'm working with Harp @ Taka Motorsports right now to figure this out. I'll keep you posted on what I come up.

Thanks for the info. I just threw on another clamp so hopefully it stops leaking.

And thanks for the link, but I don't have an SR.
I'll give them a call anyways and see if they'll have the fittings for me.

The fitting is meant for a T25/8. They also carry GT series fittings. Give Pat a shout and he'll set one up for you.

Then you can figure out how to get it back to the block. Maybe the best way for you is to run it straight to the oilpan. How are you running it now?

Its going to the pan now. I have a 90degree hose pipe tapped in the pan for the return feed.

I'm using a t3/t4... I haven't had a chance to call yet, but i'll get around to it.
