240 rear end strength?
Got myself a set of Mickey Thompson ET streets for the drag strip and have found myself wondering if this might cause too much strain for the rear end? Last thing I want to do is break something at the tree or maybe at the 1-2 upshift. Wanted to get some feedback from guys running slicks on their 240's and maybe some tips to keep things in one piece back there. Figured if I can get just a little wheelspin off them and slip the clutch, I should be ok?

Torque-wise, I'm only making around 300ft/lb right now. I was just worried that pretty much grip-and-go traction, I might break something. It's good to have reassurance and peace of mind

As long as there isn't too much slop in the rear end you should be fine at that power level and a good ways beyond. Wheel hop, which shouldn't be an issue on et streets, can kill an otherwise stout drivetrain. The tranny however, is another issue altogether..... many have broken them at hp levels as low as 300-350 rwhp.

A car in town twisted the input on the diff with less than 400lbs/ft using slicks. He runs an HKS 3037 on a S14 SR. He did an easy 11 on 225/50/16 street tires though.

Well looks like I'll just have to go out there, make some runs, and see what happens. I'll post up later whether or not my car makes it home under it's own power.
