how would the gas tank do anything to the battery?

To do it safe is to get a relocating kit off summitracing.com or your local sears. it includes box, wiring, mounts, etc.

i used a batt relocation kit and it took about 45 minutes to complete the install. the battery in the trunk has nothing to do with the gas tank under the car. just dont drill into the gas tank while trying to mount the batt box and you will be fine..........
