![]() Iam waiting for my walbro 255 w/ kit to come tommorow and it popped into my mind if i need to replace the rubber seal that goes around the hole were you drop in the pump. Or does the kit already come with it.
Also should i reuse the stock filter that attaches to the pump or use the new one that comes with the walbro. im asking because ive read that the new filter that comes with it is much smaller and some what more restrictive that the stock one. Im trying to cover all bases so i dont run into any small problems. Can anyone that bought the s13 walbro+kit tell me what comes in the kit Thnx

my kit never came with a replacement rubber seal that goes around the hole you drop in the pump. The a new stock filter that attacheds to the pump should come with the kit. It should be the same exact filter, mine was. The pump is powerful, the filter doesnt effect the pump.

I had one and it did not come with a seal either. I reuse my old pump sock. I think there a kit that made specially for the 240sx, you have to search it was about 3 years ago. Also the prelude I forgot what year has the same sock length as the s14.

My kit didn't come with a rubber seal.. it should be fine unless its brittle/cracking.
Also, compare the sock size.. use the new one if its the same size. Otherwise, use the old one.

In some cases after opening the lid to the tank and relieving the pressure on the seal, you'll have a very hard time getting the rubber seal to seat back into place. I heard it's because the seal soaks up gasoline over time and expands.
This happened to a me and a friend of mine. Fortunately, after fidgeting with it for awhile I got mine to seat, but my friend couldn't and ended up getting a new one from the dealer. So, just some FYI. |

yea, i highly recommend picking up that rubber seal from the dealer, once the seal is exposed to the air, it will expand to a lot larger diameter than the hole. so like i said, it will make things easier if you go ahead and pick it up. good luck
