my HUD hasn't been working for the last few days.  The Dash lights always have to warm up, like all the other s13's.  However, the HUD doesn't come on.  The speed appears to be accurate.  Also, has anybody tried to switch out the digital for the analog stuff so you don't have to worry about this crap.  I can do some electrical work, but I don't have much experience soldering boards.  thanks for your help

Ah the never ending problem with HUD...I just wanna whine in here too....
On the way home from work I actually caught my HUD and Speedo dimming out...well at least I know its not broken....just retarted..

If you happen to swap out your cluster, drop me an email..  I might be interested in getting you digital display.  Is it only the Heads-up Display unit that's faulty?

run 2 wires directly to ur cluster. if you need the fsm i have the 89 for the sohc i can get the dohc from work. jack the wheels up and speed up if your hud works then u have a open. i had the same problem ran a new wire to wa connector under the hood thats where the problem went to.

if that doesnt work check ur speedo gear
it should measure .5 volts(recallin from memory) if not replace it.

mine has worked since and i wouldnt go with an analog one for nothing

what do I need to remove to get at the lights.  Where do I run the two wires from the HUD to?  I'd like to get a FSM, but I haven't been able to find one recently.  Did you have one you could sell or just scan some pages or something.  Thanks

p.s. Halo -  I don't know why you would want to put the digital dash in, it always breaks

had my wiper motors replaced, now my hud dont work...

fuckers...

my buddy has an extra unit but i thik its the wiring as well...

halo, you want just the unit of the whole dash???

basically first check your speed sensor it .5 volts  a.c. then if that checks out good quick and easy way is to run a wire from your cluster which on mine were the yellow and yellow black wires (im pretty sure) accelrate and see if your speedo works.. then eleiminate a wire to see which on has a break/open in it.

if you need more help email me i can scan the photo of the wiring diagram for you i have the fsm from work

but guess what, i replaced my head lights and i get in the car and my heads up display is working again...

i cant explain it but it saved me a few bucks...
