Motor: KA24E (SOHC) all stock.

ok...timing chain guide was blown up, decided to rebuild motor.
put everything together, put motor at TDC #1 cylinder, put in oil pump/distributor, distributor pointing to what should be the number one spark plug.
forgot to put in a gasket on the oilpump/distributor, had to take those out. i didnt take out the gear on the pump, just the pump itself. put everything back in, made sure distributor lined up with the gear, and got ready to start the car. no good.
1.we have spark from the coil, sparkplug wires, and spark plugs themselves. so we know we have spark.
what is the correct firing order so that my distributor plugs are plugged in right?(which way should it look, from the top most plug to right to bottom to left) what way does the distributor turn? i have been searching, and i read clockwise, but mine is turning counter clockwise? also...is there a separate ground wire on the distributor? there is a prong for what looks to be a ground wire, on the distributor itself, does this ground to the head? if so, i dont have that on, and that hopefully would be my problem.
2.fuel, we have prime, but my lines may be crossed, im not sure.... fuel line running from the filter goes into the FPR correct? and then the return is the other one? pretty sure i had those crossed at first, had fuel return running from the fpr, and filter line running on the other side with no fpr on it.
the only other thing i could think of is that my distributor is just off way bad, and i would need to pull out the oilpump/gear/distributor and reset everything to tdc again.

i do have the ground on the back of the head to firewall hooked up, so i know its not that problem...but im fricken stumped, i have an fsm, but it doesnt show the firing order...or maybe im just too tired and not able to look hard enough

if i can get this start up issue fixed, i can sell the car, so help a brotha out!

ok checked the timing, its at tdc set to 0* and dizzy is pointed at the #1 spark plug coil. got fuel, got spark, got compression 140 across all cylinders. wtf is going on?
