Heres the question

1989 240sx Fastback...
Stock DOHC rebuild + reinforced cyllanders + dual cam ...
1) Will it be legal? Im guessing yes...
2) How many horses will it add? If anyone has done this before or knows of someone who has, input is a much thanks.
3) Will this give enuff power to have a decent powered S13? The goal is street legal but not stock. I live in CA and really dont feel like dealing with the PoPo bullcrap.

yes. doing a NA rebuild your stock pos dohc with reinforced cyllanders (..cyclinders?) and running dual cams in a DUAL OVER HEAD CAM engine
will give you approximately 2000hp. give or take a few.

but no it will not be legal because your car will become too fast.

so if your blew your motor, you will have to buy another one becuase rebuilding it is illegal??

and how do you think you will gain ANY horsepower crom "reinforced cyllanders" if all they are just basically the same pistons but stronger?

the only way you are getting power out of a rebuild is that it seals better, and has better compresson, no it will not give you a decently powered S13 unless you are comparing it to a honda civic.

so in summary.

no a rebuild will not make your car go alot faster.

and no, it will not be illegal.
